Artificial nails have been around for a long time. And the art of applying artificial nails has been perfected to a tee. This type usually needs to be filled in every two to three weeks. Artificial Nail Tips & Tricks
When choosing a length, keep in mind that artificial nails will "grow" as your natural nail does. If you plan on getting a fill every 2-3 weeks, your nails will become quite long in the meantime. Go for a slightly shorter length then desired. Never use Acetone nail polish remover on artificial nails. This will eat your nails. Use non-acetone to remove nail polish instead. Keep a small bottle of nail glue with you at all times. If your artificial nails begin to lift, fill the crack with glue till you can make it to your next appointment. If artificial nails begin to lift, have them fixed immediately. Artificial nails are highly susceptible to fungus growth if not repaired right away. If you plan on getting artificial nails, be prepared to maintain them. You should pre-book your appointments ahead of time How to remove artificial Nails: Artificial Nails should always be removed by your manicurist.But if you are in a pinch and need your fake nails or wraps removed, use these tips below: If you are accustomed to using cuticle nippers, you can GENTLEY remove the nails piece by piece. Start by removing the length of the nails, as if you were cutting your fingernails short. Then starting at the edge, gently slide the nippers under a loose spot, near the nail edge and cut. Continue to cut piece by piece. If it hurts, stop and call your manicurist! If you do not know how to use nippers, you can cause extensive damage to your nail bed. This method should only be used if you know how to use nippers properly. The safer, yet more time consuming method is to soak your fake nails off. This is also the correct method to removing any type of nail wrap: Remove nail polish. File the nails with a hard grit nail file. Fill a glass bowl with Acetone nail polish remover or an appropriate artificial nail removing product. Soak nails for 5 minutes. Remove and file. Soak again for another 5 minutes then file again. Repeat this process till the fake nails are removed. Clean hands then gently buff off excess glue with a buffer. Give yourself a manicure to nourish your natural nails.
