EYES

Fact
The skin around the eyes is the thinnest anywhere on the body and one of the first places on our face to show signs of aging

  • Take care not to pull or drag the skin around the eyes when applying or removing make-up as this can hasten the arrival of premature wrinkles.
  • The underlying tissue around the eyesis poorly supplied with sebaceous glands, so the eye area needs good lubrication and nourishment. The surest way to nourish the skin is by eating well and by giving the circulation a regular helping hand with light massage.
  • Soothe your eyes: place a slie of cucumber on each eyelid for up to 15 minutes. Cucumber's high mineral and water content is therapeutic for the eyes, and the juice makes a nourishing eye drop.
  • Always wear sunglasses (with ultraviolet or UV and infrared ray protection) in bright sunlight. Your eyes do need natural light but make sure they are inshaded only in gentle sunlight.
  • For firm, taut eyelids: Shut both eyelids tightly so that you feel the squeezing effect on the eyes. Maintain this pressure for a count of 12. Relax the eyelids. Rest the eyes for a moment by keeping them lightly closed. Repeat five times.

  • To keep your eyes white and bright, apply cold milk to your eyelids with cotton wool each morning like a toner
  • Use the bare minimum of products on your eyes - stick to natural products only.
  • Never use a toner on the eyes: Simply splash your eyes with cold water after cleansing, wich will also invigorate the circulation.
  • Don't fall into the trap of slathering your eyes with a super-rich cream to replace lost moisture and restore suppleness, as this will simply over tax the delicate eye tissue and do nothing to enhance your eyes.
  • To create a natural and flattering eyebrow shape, start by removing hairs from the inner edge and the bridge of the nose. Now prune the center and the outer edge, allowing the line to taper gradually to nothing. To find out where the brow should end, imagine a line connecting the outside of your nostril with the outer corner of your eye and extending out to your brow. Finally pull out any stray hairs below the brows.
